چکیده

AbstructDynamic Channel allocation in Cellular Networks have become very popular off late due to the flexibility obtained by using any of the available channels in any cell as long as the Interference level is below a given threshold. In our problem we study Cellular networks under Dynamic Channel Allocation and propose a Two Dimensional Markov Chain model to analyze the performance of the system in terms of Blocking probabilities. In our analysis, we consider all the mobiles and base stations to be perfectly power controlled, i e each Mobile (Base station) transmits on any channel, such that the signal strength received at its corresponding Base station (Mobile) is unity irrespective of the actual position of the Mobile in the cell. We perform this analysis for a linear highway system with both Centralized and Dbtributed Channel Allocation. We look at low mobility systems in our problem. In practice, Digital European Cordless Telephony (DECT) is a standard to which our analysis is applicable.

Performance analysis of channelized cellular systems with dynamic channel allocation

We present an analytical model to compute the blocking probability in channelized cellular systems with dynamic channel allocation. We model the channel occupancy in a cell by a two-dimensional (2-D) Markov chain, which can be solved to obtain the blocking probability in each cell. We apply our analytical model to linear highway systems with and without lognormal shadowing and then extend it to...

A Two-Threshold Guard Channel Scheme for Minimizing Blocking Probability in Communication Networks

In this paper, we consider the call admission problem in cellular network with two classes of voice users. In the first part of paper, we introduce a two-threshold guard channel policy and study its limiting behavior under the stationary traffic. Then we give an algorithm for finding the optimal number of guard channels. In the second part of this paper, we give an algorithm, which minimizes th...

Performance Enhancement of Dynamic Channel Allocation in Cellular Mobile Networks Based on Carrier-to-noise Interference Ratio

In cellular mobile communication system the existing dynamic channel allocation scheme suffer from high blocking probability and forced termination probability. To mitigate this problem, in this paper we evaluated the performance of dynamic channel allocation scheme based on carrier-to-noise interference ratio. In our system model, uplink power strength from a call-initiating user to the base s...

Effect of Blocking Probability on Channel Allocation Using Distributed Dynamic Channel Allocation Algorithm

Technological advances and rapid development of handheld wireless terminals have facilitated the rapid growth of wireless communications and mobile computing. Essentially we have a limited resource transmission spectrum, which must be shared by several users. Since the available frequency spectrum is limited the channels must be reused as much as possible in order to increase the system capacit...
